In search of understanding and healing, filmmaker and activist Bassam Mortada explores his father’s arrest, imprisonment and torture in Abo Zaabal 89, re-constructing and reconsidering the experience that traumatised and divided his family.
BASSAM MORTADA es director, productor y activista. También es el cofundador de See Media Production. Su primer largometraje documental, Reporting… A Revolution, se estrenó en la Berlinale en 2012. Desde entonces ha dirigido también tres cortometrajes documentales, uno de los cuales Waiting for His Descent (Esperando a su decenso), se llevó el primer premio a mejor documental en el Jesuite Film Festival.
BASSAM MORTADA is a director, producer and activist. He is also a co-founder of See Media Production. His first feature documentary Reporting… A Revolution premiered at the Berlinale Film Festival in 2012. Since then he has also directed three short documentaries, one of which Waiting for His Descent won first prize for documentary (Jesuite Film Festival).
