Non-Fiction Cinema Workshop - Miradas Afroindígenas

OFF ESCAC is specifically designed for students in sound and image training programs. The invited schools are all those offering official sound and image qualifications in the Canary Islands: IES La Guancha, IES Felo Monzón, and CIFP César Manrique in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The workshop, coordinated by professionals from the industry, challenges one team from each school to write, produce, shoot, and edit a non-fiction short film that lasts no longer than eight minutes, based on a theme given at the beginning of the workshop. In this way, in less than a week’s work, teams must deliver a final version ready to be screened in the official festival venues.

Throughout the festival week, students face all of the difficulties and complexities involved in production work, enabling them to put all their acquired knowledge to the test and learn through direct contact with the professionals coordinating the process.
