Miradas Críticas

A Workshop on Contemporary Non-Fiction Criticism

Film criticism is the culmination of something every cinephile experiences: the pleasure of being a spectator. In this workshop, image and sound students from Tenerife are initiated into film analysis and criticism. It’s an opportunity for lovers of non-fiction cinema, of discussion and analysis, to explore the landscape of contemporary non-fiction cinema.

Miradas Críticas invites international non-fiction film specialists, generating a space for film analysis with our audience through the screening of a film from the Official Selection. With this initiative, the Miradas AfroIndígenas Festival offers a “menu” that is the finest selection of non-fiction cinema. This menu becomes a real adventure, one that we will use to offer a firsthand experience of the processes that enable critics to understand and assess a film.
