Project Development Workshop
DocSur is a lab and pitching space aimed at filmmakers from anywhere in the world with documentary projects that tell stories about countries in the Global South or are produced and/or made in these countries.

She has been living and working as a producer in Barcelona since 2002 and has collaborated with the Málaga, San Sebastián, and FIPA (Biarritz) festivals, where she has led and moderated pitching workshops. In 2008 and 2009, she was the presenter of the documentary section Tiempo de Historia at SEMINCI (Valladolid International Film Week).

PROGRAM
Pitching Workshop
Over the course of two days, participants will take part in intensive training led by expert consultant Stephanie von Lukowicz to prepare their project presentation.
- Public Project Presentation: The director and/or producer of each project selected will give a brief 7-minute presentation before the panel of Commissioning Editors (television funding executives), distributors, festival directors, and public and private film institutions. Participants are advised to include a demo or trailer in their presentation, provided it does not exceed three minutes in length.
- Following the presentation, the invited international professionals will respond to the pitch and take part in the discussion, which will be guided by the workshop moderator. They will share insights into their channel’s programming interests, as well as their respective organization’s editorial lines, with the selected filmmakers.
- B2B Meetings: In this third stage, each project will be presented and discussed in of approximately 10 minutes with the various members of the panel of distributors, Commissioning Editors, and festival programmers.
The goals of these sessions are the following:
To fund documentary film projects through co-production or pre-purchase agreements with the channel or distributor representatives.
To enrich and develop proposals through close, face-to-face interactions with Commissioning Editors, festival directors, and the suggestions that they offer for each project.
